Ongoing ITES Lab research investigates nano-enhanced phase-change materials for thermal energy storage, combining heat transfer, phase change, fluid flow, and multiphysics modeling. The work is being extended toward thermal buffering and thermal-management applications in battery energy-storage systems.
The work investigates how thermal-front evolution, transport enhancement, and phase-change behavior govern storage capacity and system performance, with future extensions toward flexible cooling, resilient energy infrastructure, and battery thermal buffering.
